My Prayer

“Give ear, O LORD, unto my prayer” – Psalm 86:6
O King eternal, Lord of my soul,
Drive out the enemy of my heart and take control.
Thou art my Conqueror, Comfort, and Guide,
In the castle of Thy Word I humbly abide.
Keep by thy Spirit my mind upon the cross,
Reclaim the inward territory I have lost.
I am so helpless – sin’s gulf is too wide,
Come quickly, Lord Jesus, and stand by my side.
Lead on Jehovah, I now clearly see,
The overcome overcome only through Thee.
Now empty and bare, my self-will has died,
Refuge of the ages in Thee I hide.
“The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.”
– Proverbs 18:10
“ But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint
.”
– Isaiah 40:31
