“For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him…” —2 Chronicles 16:9
Think of our Heavenly Creator searching throughout the all of His human creation for a heart that is upright and sincere toward Him. He seeks for such that He may demonstrate His power to and through that individual life.
We all have heard, “But God knows my heart.” What an amazing statement! He really does know our hearts - who we truly are and why we do what we do. He knows our thoughts, our motives, our bias’, our preferences, our opinions, our life experiences, our blind spots, etc. He knows us through and through!
Think on these Scriptures:
- “But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.” 1 Samuel 16:7
- “And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.” Luke 16:15
- “And they prayed, and said, Thou, Lord, which knowest the hearts of all men, shew whether of these two thou hast chosen,” Acts 1:24
When God looks at your heart, what does He see? Does he see a proud self-willed King Saul or a yielded seeking heart like David? Acts 13:21-22 shows us the consequence of each heart, “And afterward they desired a king: and God gave unto them Saul the son of Cis, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, by the space of forty years. And when he had removed him, he raised up unto them David to be their king; to whom also he gave testimony, and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfil all my will.”

“Lord, please search my heart and deal with me deeply and thoroughly. Show me what you see. Help me to be open and honest in addressing where I stand before you.”
You are loved and prayed for.
Sincerely,
