“And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.” Habakkuk 2:2-3

By the help of God, I have labored these 35+ years here at Shining Light with the conviction that He has a vision and plan for His work here that involves His timing and preparation.

Here are some lessons I have learned along the way:

• You must value your opportunity and get ready for your future. It has been and is being written. You are the only one who can defeat your future and are ultimately at the mercy of no one but God Almighty.

• What truly appears to be against you is for you. You do not see what God sees. Keep looking to Him Who sees what you cannot, but one day you will.

• You must die to self, to opposition, to slights, to being taken for granted or advantage of.

• Don’t stop! Keep going! Do not waste what you have learned and been prepared for, or betray your God and those who have believed in you.

• There is a time to speak and a time to refrain from speaking. There is a time to listen and to be taught. There is a time of silence and separation, along with prayer and preparation for what is next. No more questions asked or explanations sought, just simple sacred quiet trust and obedience.

These are great days to serve the Lord! Let’s lean into and embrace this new year and all that God has for us.
